On Sunday, the family of Noah Campbell, a 13-year-old boy who lost his life in a tragic accident, shared heartfelt memories of his vibrant personality. The collision involving a car, bicycle, and scooter happened in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 23:50 BST on Friday, leaving two other teenagers with severe injuries. Noah’s relatives described him as a “fun, bright, handsome, athletic” young man whose presence was cherished by many.
“He found joy in the company of friends and family, who were the core of his existence,” the family statement said. “Though football was his passion, he shone in rugby, cricket, and athletics, embodying a rare talent across multiple disciplines.” The tribute also highlighted his love for fitness and outdoor adventures, including gym sessions and time at the bike park.
Authorities confirmed that a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been charged in connection with the incident. Jamie Fountain, from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, faces charges of causing death by careless driving and driving while over the alcohol and drug limit. He is also accused of two counts of causing serious injury through negligent driving. Additionally, he was charged with failing to stop at the scene, not reporting the accident, and conspiring to obstruct justice.
Ellie Ireland, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both individuals are scheduled to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday. As of now, one of the injured boys remains hospitalized in critical condition, while the other was discharged after receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Police have confirmed the details of the crash, which occurred on Greenfield Road. The family’s grief is echoed in their statement, which notes that Noah’s death has created a lasting void in their lives.
