The situation escalated when he debated Sean “Diddy” Combs over the slogan. West shared a private conversation with Combs, who was later jailed for prostitution-related charges, in which he alleged Combs was “controlled by Jewish people.” This referenced a longstanding antisemitic narrative, leading to his account suspension. He returned to Twitter, vowing to go “death con 3 on Jewish people,” prompting another ban for violating hate speech policies.

The latest crisis came in 2023 when West was booked as a headliner for the Wireless Festival. His antisemitic comments, particularly during an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, fueled the controversy. When asked about the “White Lives Matter” T-shirt, he told Carlson it was “funny” and “the obvious thing to do,” suggesting the phrase was a valid response to systemic issues. He further criticized media bias, stating, “Because the same people that have stripped us of our identity and labelled us as a colour, have told us what it means to be Black.”
