DOJ files reveal FBI’s plan to probe if close friends David Copperfield and Jeffrey Epstein shared a ‘predilection for minors’ and swapped possible victims

DOJ Files Expose FBI’s Plan to Investigate David Copperfield and Jeffrey Epstein’s Alleged Ties to Minors

Documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) expose a previously undisclosed FBI strategy to examine whether David Copperfield and Jeffrey Epstein exchanged information about underage women, potentially facilitating the grooming of young victims. The inquiry, which was abandoned due to internal hesitations, suggested that Copperfield’s influence and financial clout were significant factors in the probe’s conclusion.

Uncovering a Close Partnership

Copperfield’s departure from his residency at the MGM Grand has sparked renewed interest in the DOJ’s files, which highlight his deep ties to Epstein. The magician’s name appears 438 times in the released documents, underscoring the extent of his involvement. His final performance at the venue is scheduled for April 30, with 120 shows planned over the next eight weeks, including multiple appearances in a single day.

“A clear connection between Copperfield and Epstein exists that requires further investigation to determine if they both shared a predilection for minors. In addition, the investigation needs to determine if they engaged in referring possible victims to each other.”

Behind the Scenes of the FBI’s Inquiry

Internal DOJ emails reveal that prosecutors identified several potential witnesses linked to Copperfield, who were also connected to Epstein’s case. These individuals, described as having ties to the magician’s operations, included women who claimed Epstein groomed them. The FBI’s interest in Copperfield extended to his business practices, with agents noting he maintained a list of women he targeted for sexual encounters.

The investigation into Copperfield’s alleged misconduct coincided with Epstein’s broader probe, which spanned from 2006 to 2008. During this period, law enforcement conducted raids on Copperfield’s warehouse in Las Vegas, seeking evidence of his involvement. The FBI also subpoenaed Live Nation Entertainment for customer records and program details, allegedly because Epstein had gifted tickets to his victims.

A Legacy of Scrutiny

Copperfield has been scrutinized for years over sexual impropriety allegations, including a notable report in The Guardian that detailed his potential misconduct. Despite the FBI’s efforts to connect him to Epstein’s network, the investigation did not result in charges, partly due to concerns about the strength of the evidence and the resources available to prosecutors.
