Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale arrives at the BRIT Awards with bloodied knees as she makes a bizarre red carpet appearance

Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale Makes Unusual Red Carpet Debut at BRIT Awards

Rhian Teasdale, 32, caused a stir at the BRIT Awards red carpet on Saturday night, arriving at the ceremony with bloodied knees. Her unique appearance sparked curiosity as she stepped onto the Co-op Live stage in Manchester, dressed in a beige printed mini skirt paired with a cream faux fur shawl.

Teasdale completed her look with white boots and animal print gloves, adding a striking contrast to her outfit. Her pink and yellow dyed hair was styled in a poker straight cut, complemented by a handbag. She was joined on the red carpet by her bandmates Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes, Josh Mobaraki, and Hester Chambers.

BRIT Awards 2026: A Shift Toward Gender-Neutral Categories

The 46th BRIT Awards, held for the first time at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, marked a new era for the event. Following the removal of gendered categories like Best Male and Best Female, the ceremony faced criticism for the underrepresentation of women in nominations. However, 2026 saw a notable change, with 70 percent of all nominations going to female or non-binary artists.

Olivia Dean Dominates with Record-Breaking Wins

Olivia Dean, 26, emerged as a standout figure, sweeping the awards in every category she was entered. She claimed Best Artist, Best Album, Best Song, and Best Pop Act for her work, including the single “Man I Need” and the album “The Art Of Loving,” both released in 2025. Dean’s dominance extended to the Song of the Year category, where her track “Man I Need” and collaboration with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In,” earned recognition.

Olivia Dean became the first woman to secure the UK’s No 1 single and album in the same week since Adele in 2021.

In contrast, Lily Allen, 40, did not win any awards despite her chart-topping album “West End Girl” from last year. She was nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Pop Act but fell short to Dean.

Notable Honorees and Collaborations

Manchester-born Noel Gallagher, 58, received the Songwriter of the Year award after reuniting with his brother Liam for the massive Oasis reunion tour. Sharon Osbourne, 73, accepted an honor on behalf of her late husband Ozzy Osbourne, who was presented with the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award.

Meanwhile, Lola Dean, 24, took home the breakthrough artist award following a challenging period. Dave, 27, triumphed in the Hip Hop category with his album “The Boy Who Played The Harp.” Fred Again, known as Fred Gibson, and collaborators Skepta and PlaqueBoyMax won the Dance award, while Sam Fender claimed Best Rock.

Mark Ronson, 50, was honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, before performing on stage. SAULT, Jacob Alon, and PinkPanthress also received accolades for R&B, Critics Choice, and Producer of the Year, respectively.
